Your brief is to explore and explain some of the issues around climate crisis. You will be communicating the concepts behind scientific facts and make them to accessible to everyone through narrative and moving image and you need to propose solutions.
-visual data, new ways of showing old facts
-metaphor
-imaginative usage of sound
-thought provoking
-useful
-inventive
-ambitious
No purely numerical data
No sadness and terror without positivity or solutions
No “raising awareness”
Short Answers to Hard Questions About Climate Change
-2 degrees heating up
The heat accumulating in the Earth because of human emissions is roughly equal to the heat that would be released by 400,000 Hiroshima atomic bombs exploding across the planet every day
-but people and animals are able to adapt more to the changing climate more than what was thought
-clean energy is more cheaper
-not eating beef might help the planet
Climate Change: How Do We Know?
-dig up some ice and measure how much co2 has been emitted in the air
-for a millenia the graph was steady but since 1950 it went crazy
-last ice age was 7000 yeas ago, now the modern climate era
This ancient, or paleoclimate, evidence reveals that current warming is occurring roughly ten times faster than the average rate of ice-age-recovery warming.3
